Indications: carotid stenosis, part of stroke workup, carotid dissection   

Sequences:

·        Axial tru-FISP

·        Sagittal tru-FISP

·        Dynamic coronal MRA (pre-, arterial, venous phases)

·        Rotating 3-D MIP reformats

·        Opt: axial pre-Gd thin-slice T1 SE with fat saturation (dissection).

Dictation template:

Axial and sagittal tru-FISP through the neck.  Coronal dynamic MRA after the administration of 0.1-0.4 mmol/kg of intravenous Gadolinium contrast (up to 20 mL) in the arterial and venous phases, with rotating 3-dimensional maximum intensity projection (MIP) reformats constructed from subtraction images.
