The "Skull Base MRI Protocol" is almost identical to the IAC/Temporal bone Protocols
Without Contrast "Skull Base MRI Sequences"

  • Sag SE T1
  • Axial FLAIR
  • Axial DWI
  • Axial EPI Gre-mainly on the area of interest/differentiate the calcification
  • Axial T1 3mm (bottom of pons to 3rd ventricle)
  • Cor T2 FS 3mm (4th ventricle to post 1/3 of orbit)
Post contrast "Skull Base MRI Sequences"
  • Ax T1 F.S.+C 3mm (skull base)
  • Cor T1 F.S.+C 3mm (skull base)
